Overview

AOD-9604 was developed in Australia as an anti-obesity drug based on the lipolytic region of human growth hormone. Early trials were promising, but a larger 2007 trial found no significant weight loss versus placebo and development for obesity was stopped.

Mechanism of action

Proposed to stimulate lipolysis and inhibit lipogenesis without GH's effects on IGF-1 or blood glucose.
